I got into UX design because while I loved the beauty and creativity of visual arts, I craved the complexity of functionality and interaction. To me, UX isn’t just my job — it’s everyone’s job — but it’s UX designers who need to advocate for users and fight for usability amidst resourcing, timing, and technological constraints.
Outside of work, I live in Seattle with my husband and two kitties, Ares and Apollo. I’m an avid reader, below-average gamer, wannabe photographer, and recently converted baseball lover.
“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in my life. And I am horribly limited.”
